AMAZING WOODTURNERS STEBCENTRE
There follows a brief explanation
about the new design of Stebcentre that incorporates a unique ring
of quadsided teeth, which, coupled with a stainless steel
spring-loaded centre-pin, provides the woodturner with a new
patented user friendly headstock driving device.
ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS
You will enjoy being in total control of the amount of 'drive' or
'slip' required, simply by adjusting the amount of pressure placed
on the workpiece by the revolving centre (Designer Gerry Stebbings
recommends a 'live' revolving centre) on the tailstock handwheel.
This patented feature helps you avoid the age-old problem of the
dreaded 'dig-in', in time you will find yourself not requiring as
much 'slip' placing more 'pressure' or 'drive' onto the workpiece
and so helping your confidence to grow with each and every visit to
the lathe.
EXPERIENCED AMATEUR & PROFESSIONAL
You will delight in being able to
easily load and unload your production workpieces
whilst your lathe is still running!!
saving time, (money) and also wear 'n'
tear on your motor! Users of 3 phase machines will know the cost &
time involved in relentless start and stop procedures. Using
the Stebcentre allows you to leave your lathe running for as long as
you like! Accurate reverse location with the lathe
running is
also a boon and allows for reverse sanding which is immensely
beneficial towards a good finish preparation. You will find
these just some of the many benefits possible, using the amazing
woodturners' Stebcentre.

The Stebcentres were
designed and created by Gerry Stebbings here in the U.K. and are
available in two sizes, 1/2" dia which are great for mini lathes and
7/8" for normal use. Both are available with No 1 or 2 Morse
Taper. They're priced at around £25.00 each with a good
discount for buying both together. Stebcentres are available
from most good woodturners supplies or direct from Gerry at
