"DANCERS AND WARRIORS II"
Has a total of 48 different silver
leaf windows, each with a dancer or warrior finished with chemical
patina. The outlines are hand drawn with the aid of a technical pen
and purple ink.
THE MATERIAL
This truly magnificent deep hollowed vessel is turned from maple,
turned on Steve's Powermatic 3520 lathe. Open ended vessels
are usually supported by a Woodfast steady rest , which fits the
Powermatic.
THE RIM
The rim is
finished with 21k moon gold leaf applied in two layers for durability.
The first layer being coated and the second left to the elements and
looking very natural.
THE DIMENSIONS
"Dancers And Warriors II" is, as is
most of Steve's work, very large, measuring a stately 25 1/2" high
(648mm) by 8" in diameter (200mm).
